Loa, Utah - Our kind and beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Henry Dudley Brian, age 78, died February 24, 2016 at his home in Loa. He was born December 10, 1937 in Loa, a son of Reed Bastian and Marjorie White Brian. He grew up in Loa and learned the value of hard work. Being the oldest son, he learned at a young age the responsibility of taking care of things at home, plus keeping up with his school work, while his father was at the sheep herd. He graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1956. He married his eternal companion, Beverly Brown February 7, 1958 in the Manti LDS Temple. They just celebrated their 58th Wedding Anniversary. After their marriage, Dudley and Beverly lived in Salt Lake City for a while, but his heart was in Wayne County and he wanted to farm. Uncle Dolan Brian offered him the opportunity to return home to Wayne County and live his dream when he sold him the ranch south of Loa. He loved the ranch and always kept it neat and orderly. He farmed it for over 43 years. Dudley served his country in the Utah National Guard for 6 years. Dudley served as President of the Seven Mile Grazers Association and President of the Wayne County Farm Bureau as well as President of the Fremont Irrigation Company. He was active in many other organizations throughout the county. He served many of these positions at the same time. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in the Loa Ward Sunday School Presidency and the Loa Utah Stake Sunday School Presidency, as well as Loa Ward Executive Secretary, Elders Quorum President and on the Loa Utah Stake High Council. He was an ordinance worker at the Manti Temple. He and Beverly served a service mission at the John Johnson Home and Farm in Ohio. Dudley loved riding horses on the mountains, dancing with his lovely wife, and driving fast. He is survived by his wife of Loa; children: Durran and Teresa Brian of Loa; Suzette and Travis Bradshaw of Beaver; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers: Julia Sorenson of Axtel; Emily Lee of Boulder City, Nevada; Stanley and Lois Brian, Robert and Edra Brian; Harry and Dawna Rae Brian, Pamela and Russell Peterson; Debbie and Bobbie Edwards, all of Loa; Sheila and Sherrill Torgerson of Lyman; Michele and Dale Coates of Aurora.
