Hal R. Miller

January 24, 1938 — July 1, 2015

Koosharem, Utah - Hal Robert Miller, age 77, passed away July 1, 2015 at his home in Koosharem of Esophageal Cancer. He was born January 24, 1938 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, a son of LeRoy and Ruth Malmberg Miller. He graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City, Class of 1956, with friends to the end, from there. He married Sandra Dee Griggs April 6, 1985 in Elko, Nevada. Their private quote to each other was "Oneness - Always". He enlisted in the United States Army twice and then the National Guard, receiving Honorable discharges from each one, maintaining lifetime friendships. He was stationed in Taegu, Korea during the Viet Nam Conflict. He retired from Tooele Army Depot, but worked many places, including Boeing Air Force Base when he lived in Kent, Washington. Hal enjoyed his dogs, fishing, hunting and western novels. He was able to converse with anyone, everyone that met him, liked him. He never met a stranger. He is survived by his wife, Sandy Miller of Koosharem; his children: Mike and Marlene Crooks of West Jordan; Kae and Charlie Udy of Midvale; stepsons: Joe and Dawna Priano, and Jason Priano, all of Sandy; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; a brother: Bill and Robin Miller of Santa Clara, Utah. Memorial Service July 18, 2015 at Koosharem LDS Ward Building, in Koosharem. Friends may visit with the family at the LDS Ward Building from 11:00 a.m.-12 pm. Followed by memorial service with luncheon. At 1:00 PM military honors accorded by the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92 and the Utah Honor Guard will be held.
