Nephi, Utah - Harvey Doyle Cook, age 75, of Nephi, Utah passed away with the love of his life by his side, January 22, 2024, in Nephi, Utah after a short and aggressive battle with Cancer.
He was born January 13,1949, in Payson Utah, a son of Vivian Doyle and Marjorie Jean Peterson Cook.
At a very young age you could find Harvey out in the gardens pulling weeds to try and make a little extra cash. Around the age of 14 you could find Harvey behind the wheel of a semi-truck hauling anything from sheep to cows from pasture to pasture with the biggest smile you would ever imagine. Harvey loved the farming lifestyle, whether it be his beloved Horses, Cows or Sheep.
After graduating High School, he attended Trade Tech in Provo doing Auto Mechanics. He married Lila Stanley and they had 4 daughters: Yancey, Shannie, Melinda and Kallie his little Truck Driving Buddy. They later Divorced. He then married Kristen Fitzerald in May of 1985. She passed away April 15, 2002, Then on August 27, 2005, he married Lynette Batty Grundy and gained 4 children. Stephanie Long, Taylor Grundy, Dillon Grundy, and Jerron Grundy.
His love for truck driving led him to Work for IFA for 25 years he started at the Spanish Fork IFA doing Fertilizer and then Transferred to South Region Feed Mill on the ridge where he Delivered feed to customers and loved every minute of it.
If you every needed to Find Harvey you could start looking on the Patio where he loved listening to Willies Roadhouse on XM, Down Loving on his spoiled Horse or Cows or look for him on his tractor trying to decide what he was going to tear up next.
Harvey enjoyed going camping with the Batty bunch and the name should say it all, and we have been told that Harvey was the Quiet Calm Presence in our loud family. Harvey is the only person that could throw out a fishing line with no bait on it and still catch a fish.
Harvey is survived by his loving wife, Lynette; children: Yancy Valenzuela of Payson, Shannie Cook of Lehi, Malinda and Scott Allen of Levan, Stephanie and Corey Long of Nephi, Taylor and Ashley Grundy, Dillon and Ashley Grundy all of Moroni, and Jerron Grundy of Salina; 23 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings: Bobbie Jean and Paul Hyde of Kearns; Dave and Kristie Cook of Mapleton, and Yauna Cook of Goshen; siblings-in-law: Lorrie and Steven Paulson of Kearns, Bryan and Jennifer Batty of Fremont, Bobbi Jo and Lee Cartmell of Hanksville, Melvin and Merintha Batty of Loa.
He had 2 special granddaughters that he Idolized, and they had the same feeling for him.
He is proceeded in Death by his parents Vivian Doyle Cook, Marjorie Jean Peterson, Parents-in law Lorrie George and Barbara Batty; Wife Kristin Cook Son, Wayse Cook. Daughter Kallie Cook, Brothers, Terry and Gaylen Cook.
Graveside services will be held Friday, January 26, 2024, at 1:30 P.M. in the Goshen Town Cemetery, 10500 West 15800 South Street, in Goshen.
Friends may call for viewing at the Nephi 7th LDS Ward Chapel, 222 South 100 East in Nephi, Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. or Friday morning from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. prior to services.
Burial will be in the Goshen Town Cemetery under the care of Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
