Helen Lee

December 29, 1944 — September 27, 2022

Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend Helen Lee, returned home to our Heavenly Father Tuesday evening, September 27, 2022.


Helen was born December 29, 1944 in Lupton, AZ, born into Kiya’áaanii (Towering House), and Honágháahnii (One Walk Around), and Tó’aheedlinii (Water Flows Together) maternal clan, and Tábaahá (Water’s Edge) paternal clan. She is a daughter of Frank Green Sr., and Mary Slim Green. She was proud member of the Navajo Nation. She attended Crystal Boarding School, Crystal, NM and Chemawa Indian School, Salem Oregon. She worked in various places in Arizona and here in Sevier County. She married Bennie H. Lee on April 23, 1990, Richfield, UT. He passed away March 2, 2010.


Helen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She attended the 16th Ward in Richfield where she loved attending Relief Society, and especially liked humanitarian service. She enjoyed quilting and would quilt all day nonstop if she could. She loved to travel to the reservation to visit her extended family, but her main passion was her family, her pride and her joy.


Helen is survived by her beloved family. Her sons: Nathan and January Lee of Richfield; Donathan Lee of Richfield; Byron and LaToya Lee of Monroe; Nathaniel and Starla Lee of Sanders, AZ; Farrell and Ella Begay of McAlester, Oklahoma; her daughters: Jeannette Begay of Richfield; Annette Begay of Richfield; her sisters: Nellie Moore of Page, AZ; Theresa Green of Lupton, AZ; Ethel Begay of Richfield; Eva Green of Newcomb, NM; Esther Green of Richfield; her brothers: Frank Green of Lupton, AZ; Leo Green of Lupton, AZ; Leroy Green of Lupton, AZ.


She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons Brian Lee and Darrell Begay, and one brother Ernest Green.


Funeral Services will be held 12:00 Noon, Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 260 North 400 West, Richfield. A viewing will be held from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. prior to services.


Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Richfield and Salina, UT.


A luncheon will be held after the graveside services at the LDS 16th Ward Chapel, 800 North 500 East, Richfield, UT.
