Henrie L. Miller Manti, Utah - Henrie LaMont Miller, age 83, was called home on October 2, 2003. He died at his home in Manti of natural causes. He was born the eldest son of Andrew LaMont and Mary C. Henrie Miller on May 11, 1920. He had one brother, Earl, deceased, and twin sisters, Jean Frischknect of Ogden, Utah and June Schofield of Provo, Utah. Henrie married Doris Irene Wallace in the Manti LDS Temple on June 11, 1945. They were later divorced. He married Betty Jean Long on October 9, 1953 in the Manti LDS Temple. They were later divorced. The Lord blessed Henrie with seven wonderful children: Linda Fry, Post Falls, Idaho; Lana (Marvin) Christensen, Orem; Henrie L. (Lisa) Miller, Jr, Salina; Dr. Vernon Miller, Fort Collins, CO; RoseAnn (W. Brent) Christensen, Salina; Mark (Tammie) Miller, Beaver and Ruth Mortensen, West Jordan. He has 28 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both parents, his brother, Earl, two grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Henrie grew up with a background in farming and ranching. As a young man, he was active in Future Farmers of American, serving as their National Vice President. He also served as the first president of Utah Young Farmers Association. He graduated from Manti High School, Class of 1938. He attended both Utah State and BYU. He was a pioneer in developing registered and certified Chester White Hogs, which were offered for sale through the Montgomery Wards and Spiegel’s catalogs. His other vocational pursuits included date processing, sales/advertising and a dental referral services. Henrie was most grateful for the many opportunities he had to serve in the LDS Church. He served as a seminary teacher, Branch President and on the High Council. He faithfully attended the temple and countless lives were blessed by his valiant service. His life was dedicated to serving the Lord. Graveside services were held on Monday, October 6, 2003 in the Manti City Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
