Jack H. Taylor

January 30, 1942 — July 28, 2009

Teasdale, Utah - Our kind and beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Jack Hiskey Taylor, age 67, died July 28, 2009 at his home in Teasdale. He was born January 30, 1942 in Salina, Utah, a son of Lorenzo Keith and Rosanna Hiskey Taylor. He graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1960. He served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War. Jack married his sweetheart, Shirley Buxton, June 14, 1969 in Butler, Utah. She died June 18, 1992. Jack was a member of the LDS Church. He was the owner of Taylor Siding in Salt Lake City for 30 years. Jack lived in Midvale and Riverton for about 40 years and then after he retired, he moved back to the place that he loved and called home, Teasdale, Utah. Jack loved his grandkids. He enjoyed being a cowboy, riding horses, golfing, fishing with his grandkids, hunting, politics and his many friends. He is survived by his two sons and their wives: Jasen and Melanie Taylor of Fremont; Kelly and Keri Taylor of Riverton; four grandkids: Cydney, Riley, Heeley and Case Taylor; brothers and sisters: Mont and LaJuana Taylor of Bountiful; Allene and Roe Stephenson of Teasdale; Dwight and Barbara Taylor of West Valley City; Anita Taylor of Tucson, AZ; Karl and Kathy Taylor of Queens Creek, AZ; Camille and Ted Smith of Cottonwood Heights. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; his parents, Keith and Rosanna Taylor and his parents in law: Clyde and Vivian Buxton. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 31, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. in the Teasdale Cultural Hall where friends may call for viewing Friday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Additional funeral services will be held Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in the Mountain View Memorial Mortuary Chapel, 3115 East 7800 South in Cottonwood Heights, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Mountain View Memorial Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah. In lieu of the flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Cancer Society in remembrance of Jack Hiskey Taylor.
