Jackie Gooch Madsen Salina/Koosharem, Utah - Our beloved mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, Jackie Jane Gooch Madsen, age 52, of Salina, died very unexpectedly on Friday, November 12, 2003 at the home of her mother in Lehi, Utah of complications from surgery. She was born August 3, 1951 in American Fork, Utah, a daughter of Jesse O. and Mary Jane Jacklin Gooch. She graduated from Lehi High School, Class of 1969 and then attended Utah Technical College. She married Lewis Andrew Madsen, July 2, 1971 in Alpine, Utah. They were married for 31 years. Lewis died May 18, 2002. Jackie was an EMT and served on the ambulance in Lehi, Koosharem and Salina, Utah over twenty years. She enjoyed being an EMT and loved saving lives. Jackie worked at Kennecott Copper Mine as a security guard and as a CPR instructor. She enjoyed hunting and fishing and riding her four-wheelers and liked going to her time share condos in Mexico and Mesquite, NV. She also enjoyed quilting, sewing and crocheting. After moving from Lehi, Jackie and Lewis moved to Koosharem, where they made many special and lasting friendships. Because of Lewis’ health problems, they had to move to Salina, where Jackie has resided for the past two years. Jackie was a very outgoing person and was always there to help anyone in need. She devoted her life to her family. Jackie is survived by her mother of Lehi; step-son: Andy (Tina) Madsen of Draper; sons: Steve (Deanna) Madsen of Salina; Robert (Heather) Madsen of Cedar City; Jason Willden of Greenwich; sister: Bobby J. Madsen of Lehi; brother: John Gooch of Douglas, WY; 7 grandchildren: Jesse Madsen, Shelbie Madsen, Katelin Madsen, Kara Madsen, Ashley Madsen, Kodee Willden, Lewis Willden and a grandson, Richard Madsen is due in December. She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse O. Gooch; her husband, Lewis A. Madsen; a daughter, Marti L. Willden; a granddaughter, Skyler J. Willden; and three infant sons: Kent, Kort and Richard Madsen. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 22, 2003 at 12 Noon in the Koosharem LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. and at the ward chapel in Koosharem, Saturday from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Koosharem Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
