Jacob Karns

Santaquin/Richfield, Utah - Our kind and beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, Jacob Forrest Alan Karns, age 40, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018 at his home in Santaquin. He was born August 16, 1978 in Dallas, Texas, a son of Forrest and Kathy Fuller Karns. Jacob married Melanie Belguard and they were later divorced. He married LoReta Jean Burt April 23, 2005 in Richfield, Utah. Jacob served an LDS Mission to California and 2 mini-missions. He devoted his entire life to the Lord. He was devout in his study of religion. Jacob was a crossing guard for Richfield City Police for many years and was loved by the many children he helped cross the streets of Richfield. He was an avid reader and teacher. He loved medieval re-enactments and sword play. Jacob is survived by his wife, LoReta Jean Karns, the boys: Justin, Tristin and Scott, all of Santaquin; a daughter: Tobin Aldridge of Louisiana; siblings: Jared and Susan Karns of Idaho; Desirae Galbreath of Texas; Joseph Karns of Utah; his father, Forrest Karns of Texas; and his mother, Kathy Fuller of Louisiana; step-parents: Robert and Sharon Campbell of Twin Falls, Idaho; parents-in-law: Jon and Linda Burt of Richfield; brother and sisters-in-law: Donald and Kerry Burt of Richfield; Jamie and Quentin Lagasse of Bryce Canyon City; Tamra and Brian Robinson of Milford; Jackie Knight and Robert Height of Richfield; grandmother: Elva Cox of Centerfield; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the Richfield 16tth LDS Ward Chapel, 800 North 500 East in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be Saturday afternoon at 3:00 P.M. in the Gunnison City Cemetery in Gunnison, Utah, under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
