Jacqueline Jones Williams

Salina/Price, Utah - Jacqueline Jones Williams, age 96, passed away on February 28, 2020, in Price, Utah. Jackie, as she was known, was born in Casper, Wyoming on October 4, 1923, a daughter of Leslie W. Jones, Sr. and Ava Sutton Jones. She was married to the late Allen C. Williams and was the mother of two children, Heber C. Williams of Price and Janet Williams DeMille (deceased). Allen passed away in 2003. Jackie spent her childhood years in Evanston, Wyoming. After high school she worked in Evanston as a secretary and bookkeeper. When WWII began, she moved to San Diego where she took a position with the Bank of America. She met her husband Allen in San Diego where he was serving as a Corpsman in the U.S. Navy Hospital there. They were married April 28, 1944 in the LDS Temple in Mesa, Arizona. Allen and Jackie moved to Salina, Utah in 1951 where she began working for the First State Bank of Salina. She retired from Zion’s Bank’s Regional Office in Provo in 1996 at age 73. Jackie was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served in the Young Woman Presidencies at the Ward and Stake levels, as a Relief Society instructor and held numerous other callings in the church. After her retirement she served an LDS church mission in the Independence Missouri Mission. Being friendly and helping others was always important to Jackie. She loved to garden, read, crochet and quilt, travel and spend time with her family. She will be missed by her family and many friends. Jackie is survived by her son, Heber (Mona) Williams of Price. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Allen C. Williams and daughter Janet Williams DeMille. Jackie is survived by 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. in the Salina LDS Stake Center, 98 West 400 North in Salina, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM prior to the services. Interment will be in the Pioneer Cemetery, Salina Utah under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
