Jaime Don Romero

August 29, 1969 — May 4, 2018

Monroe, Utah - Our kind and beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, Jaime Don Romero, age 48, passed away May 4, 2018 at his home in Monroe, after a quick, but brave and valiant battle with cancer. He was born August 29, 1969 in Las Cruces, New Mexico, a son of Thomas George and Vee Daun Wilkinson Romero. Jaime graduated from Las Cruces High School, Class of 1987. He attended New Mexico State College and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. He served an LDS Mission in the Macon Georgia Mission. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as a Teacher and Ward Clerk for many years. Jaime worked at the Richfield Residential Dorm as a Counselor for many years. He loved working with the students and they loved him. He had a real passion for the Native American kids that he worked with. He loved cooking, jewelry making, crafts. shopping, photography and leatherwork. He was an avid horticulturist and loved tropical flowers. He was a Yorkie Breeder and enjoyed going to Dog Shows. Jaime loved making hats and moccasins. He had a beautiful singing voice. He loved Disney, especially Harry Potter and the costume designs. Most of all, Jaime loved his family. He will be greatly missed. Jaime is survived by his mother, Vee Daun Romero of Monroe; sisters: Jana Maria Romero of Pagosa Springs, Colorado; Tammy Jill and Michael Valenzuela of Las Cruces, New Mexico; Anita Jo and Bob Gary of Richfield; step-sisters: Robin and Bill Ables , currently serving an LDS Mission in Kurdistan, Russia; Shelly Sorenson of Myrtle Creek, Oregon; step-brothers: Jerry Kent and Nancy Rasmussen of Salina, California; Randy and Cathy Rasmussen of Glendale, Arizona; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Tommy George Romero. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 11, 20189 at 11:00 A.M. in the Monroe 1st LDS Ward Chapel, 49 East 200 North in Monroe. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the ward chapel in Monroe, Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
