Payson, Utah - Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, James Kerry Turner, age 59, died August 4, 2010 in Provo, Utah, of complications from a four wheeler accident he was involved in on July 27, 2010 on Soldier Summit. He was born January 12, 1951 in Salina, Utah, a son of Willis Edwin and Luana B. Brinkerhoff Turner. He grew up in Loa, Utah and graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1969. He married Corinne Peterson October 8, 1971 in Santa Maria, California. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple October 4, 1980. James started working as a brakeman for the railroad in Salida, Colorado. He then worked as a long haul truck driver. He was an active member of the Wayne County Search and Rescue from 1991 to 2005 and he was a reserve officer. He was an EMT and he fought forest fires. In 2005, James and Corinne moved to Payson, because of his health. He was a member of the Payson Senior Citizens and an active member of the LDS Church, where he was a High Priest in the Payson 11th Ward. James loved to go four wheeling, camping with his family, hunting with his sons and grandkids, talking on the phone, being life flighted and visiting with the nurses at UVRMC. He was truly a people person and was a friend to everyone he met. He is survived by his wife, Corinne, of Payson; children: Rob and Alison Turner, Wayne and Terra Jo Turner, all of Roosevelt; Kimbers and Neil Bagley of Enoch; Tara and Kolby Colledge of Provo; daughter-in-law: Shana and Robert Young of Salina; grandchildren: Chelce and Chad Condie, Bailey Turner, Jaelee Turner, R.J. Young, Jayden Turner, Braxton Turner, Jordan Turner, Jaxlen Turner, Stetsyn Turner, Dixon Bagley, Ruger Bagley, T.J. Bennett, Zac Bennett and Kanyon Colledge; brothers: Steven E. and Janet Turner of West Jordan; Bruce Willis and Marie Turner of Richfield; step-brothers: Lyn and Carlene Christensen, Lee and Judy Christensen, all of Salina; mother-in-law: Ina Peterson of Santa Maria, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis Turner, Luana Turner Christensen; step-father, Leonard Christensen; his oldest son, James Dean âJDâ Turner; his youngest son, Dustin Edwin Turner; and his father-in-law: Harold Dean Peterson. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, especially Dr. Alward, for taking care of James for the past 15 years. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 1:00 PM. in the Payson 11th LDS Ward Chapel, 900 West 400 North in Payson, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 10:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Additional viewing will be held Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, from 6 to 8 P.M. Grave side services and burial will be Monday, August 9, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the Lyman Cemetery, Lyman, Utah, under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
