Lyman, Utah - Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, James Oldroyd Wood, age 82, of Lyman, passed away December 28, 2013 in Taylorsville, Utah. He died peacefully in his sleep and is now reunited with his high school sweetheart. He was born December 2, 1931 in Lyman, Utah, the oldest of nine children born to Willis and Mary Lucille Oldroyd Wood. He lived his entire life in Lyman, and enjoyed the hometown celebrations, especially July 4th and 24th, Christmas Eve and the Wayne County Fair. Dad graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1950. He married our Mom, Renon Jenson, his high school sweetheart, November 17, 1950 in the Manti LDS Temple. She died September 1, 2013. Dad was athletic and played basketball and baseball for Wayne High school. He enjoyed going to watch the Wayne High Badger Basketball games over the years. Dad was a big Utah Jazz fan. GO JAZZ!!! James was a lifetime rancher and farmer. He enjoyed his association with the other cattlemen that he ran cows with. James ran his cows up in Seven Mile in the summers and down on the Blue Bench allotment in the winters. He served as President of the Seven Mile Grazers Association, was a member of the Utah Cattlemen's Association and the Utah Farm Bureau. Dad took great pride in the consistent success of his crops each year. He loved seeing his cows nice and fat, his stack yards full of hay and his granary full of barley. He liked seeing the results of his hard work. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Legacy House of Taylorsville for their love, their concerns and help with our Mom and Dad. James is survived by his children: Ellen Wood of Riverton; Joann Whitby of Magna; Evan and Cindy Wood of West Valley City; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers: Veola Clark of Grover; Carol Wood of Richfield; S.
