James R. Nite

July 14, 1936 — November 13, 2017

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, James Ronald Nite, age 81, passed away November 13, 2017 in Centerfield, Utah. He was born July 14, 1936 in Los Angeles, California, a son of James Graham and Hazel Dunn Nite. He married the love of his life, Carol Ann Hutchins, September 17, 1977 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple November 9, 1978 James served his country in the US Air Force. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in several different callings. He loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He worked at the Manti Temple and did extraction work. He loved Genealogy, and taking family names to the Temple was a highlight. James was an avid fisher man. He loved Koosharem Reservoir and rainbow trout. He always had a garden and loved growing vegetables. He was a huge sports fan and loved BYU and Bronco Football and never missed a Jazz game. He loved to tease and always had a story to tell. He is survived by his wife, Carol, of Centerfield; children: Blaine and Marci Nite of Rexburg, Idaho; Julie and Dan Tailleur of Manassa, Colorado; Liz Romero of Pueblo, Colorado; Ronda Nite of Salt Lake City, Utah; Kallie and Dave Erickson of Salina, Utah; Shanna Olmstead of Richfield, Utah; 19 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Graham and Hazel Dunn Nite; a sister, Karen Ramsey and a son-in-law, Daniel Olmstead. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mission at Community Living for the wonderful care they took of Dad. There are too many to name, but we appreciate the care they all gave. A special thank you to Intermountain Hospice, especially Shara Olsen. You are such an amazing nurse and took such great care of Daddy. We couldn't have done this without you. Thanks so much. Private family services were held at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield. At his request, his remains have been cremated and burial will take place at a later date in Colorado, under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
