Jane Mecham

Salina, Utah - Our beloved sister, aunt, niece and friend, Jane Leween Mecham, age 64, of Salina, died quietly and peacefully on Christmas Day at the Community Care Center in Centerfield, surrounded by her loving family. She was welcomed into the open arms of her parents, a sister, and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. What a wonderful Christmas present for Jane. She was born July 9, 1948 in Salina, to loving parents, William Eldwin and Vivian Deaton Mecham. She was a member of the LDS Church, and was truly a “Child of God”. Jane enjoyed scrap booking, riding her bike, wheeling her dolls in their strollers and visiting with anyone she would meet on the street. We will miss her. She is survived by her sisters and brothers: Gladys and Boyd Christensen of Redmond; Wallace Mecham, Bill and Julie Mecham, all of Salina; Margaret Mecham Christensen of Cedar City; and a brother-in-law: Dell James of Redmond. She was preceded in death by her loving parents; and a sister, Elda Lynn James. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff, nurses and doctors at Community Care Center, for their hard work, devotion and comfort they have given to our sister over the past seven years, especially to Jane’s niece, Corina Whitaker. They have made Jane’s stay there, a happy and pleasant time. Words cannot express the thanks we have in our hearts for them. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 28, 2012 at 12 Noon in the Salina 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, 85 South 100 East in Salina. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 150 East Main Street in Salina, Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Eastside Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
