Jason Kade Simpson

December 4, 1992 — June 10, 2021

Salina, Utah - Jason Kade Simpson-a beloved brother, son, grandson, nephew, and friend-died on June 10th, 2021 in his home is Salina, Utah after taking his own life. He was living with his mother and little sister at the time. Jason was unemployed at the time of his passing. He was only 28 years old. Jason was born December 4th, 1992 in St. George, Utah. Son to Keely R. Robinson and Jason L. Simpson. Jason was called by his middle name Kade by many of his friends and family. Ever since Jason was little, he loved the outdoors and he was always the happiest when he was outside. Jason’s mother Keely met Andy W. Quin who soon became his and his younger brother Damien’s step father. Jason and his brother Damien spent almost every moment together from their toddler days all the way up till their 20s. Jason attended Foothill Highschool in Nevada. Jason eventually moved back to Utah and lived in Salina. The rest of his family followed him soon after. Jason got a job welding and then eventually went to the coal mine. He soon fell in love with being a coal miner. He loved to explore and going down in the mine was always exciting for him. Jason also adored hiking and he always had the biggest smile on his face after getting off of the mountain. One of the most fun adventures Jason went on was when he went to St. George with his dad’s side of the family to climb and repel off of the red rocks and cliffs. The instructor said that Jason was a natural and could tell how much Jason enjoyed climbing. Jason even said that the closest he ever felt to God was when he reached the very top of the cliffs. When Jason wasn’t mining or hiking, he was riding dirt bikes or out shooting with his brother and best friend Damien Simpson. He loved being outdoors with his brother and other friends. Jason was the type of guy that would have lived out in the woods for the rest of his life if he could. Jason also started tattooing towards the end of his life and was actually pretty good at it. His little sister and brother have tattoos to prove it. Jason will be remembered for his love for nature, his family, and his Grandma Mary’s strawberry rhubarb pie. His infectious smile, beautiful blue eyes, and sense of humor are qualities that will be hard to forget. He was a hard-working and caring person that everyone loved. No one could really say anything bad about Jason. Jason was a true gentleman. He would be the first person to give you the shirt off his back and was there when you truly needed him. He did have his issues though. He became ill and lost his job at the coal mine. Losing this job made him depressed and eventually led him to use substances to cope. Jason struggled with addiction for the last couple years of his life. Addiction took a toll on his life, but definitely didn’t change the person he truly was. He never blamed those issues on anyone else nor did he ever steal, cheat, or lie. Jason always took accountability for his actions. He had a beautiful heart and soul that no one could forget. Jason was loved by many and will be missed. A tribute and celebration of life will be held on July 4th at 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Salina City Park in Salina Utah. Services are under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Richfield and Salina, Utah. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to offset funeral expenses.
