Jay V Mower Jr.

July 3, 1957 — November 16, 2021

Grand Junction, CO – Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, friend, and neighbor, Jay V. Mower Jr., passed away on November 16, 2021 in Denver, Colorado, due to complications arising from a kidney transplant. Jay was born in Mt. Pleasant, Utah on July 3, 1957 to Jay V. Mower Sr. and Donna Clyde Johanson. After graduating high school, he joined the military and went to Alaska as a MP and game warden. He also served in the Army National Guard for twelve years. It was in Alaska that he started his family and where his oldest three children were born: Tina, Crissy, and Jason. In 1981 he came back to Mt. Pleasant where he met and married Naomi Torgerson. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Jay became a dad to Naomi’s children: Jaime, whom he later adopted, and Chuck. Together they had a daughter, Emily. He loved and was loved by his family, and all who knew him. Jay is survived by his beloved wife Naomi; his children: Tina (Oren) Gieck, Crissy (Jessica Adams) Mower, Jason (Andrea) Mower, all of Grand Junction, Colorado, Chuck and Haley Hooper of Grand Island, Nebraska, Jamie and Jake Brown of Richfield, Emily Jeffs of Manti; siblings: Donna (Lenard) Pritchard of Ephraim, Jerry Mower of Manti, John (Laura) Mower of Mt. Pleasant; 26 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren. Jay is now reunited with his sister, parents, and grandparents. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 4, 2021 in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, Utah, where friends may call for viewing from 11:30 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the VFW Sevier Post #5050 and the Utah Honor Guard will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
