Jeanette M. Shriber

August 18, 1937 — April 7, 2012

Monroe, Utah - Our loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Jeanette McManus Shriber, age 74, of Monroe, died peacefully, with her husband at her side, on April 7, 2012 in Richfield after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born August 18, 1937 in Los Angeles, California, a daughter of Jesse Allen and Georgia Ellen Burre McManus. She graduated from John Marshall High School in Los Angeles in May of 1955 and then attended college in Santa Barbara. She married Herbert Sockman, May 27, 1958 in Los Angeles. They were later divorced. She married George M. Burke, May 8, 1962 in Pasadena, CA. They were later divorced. She married J. Donald Shriber, December 4, 1968 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jeanette enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling abroad and was an avid reader. She was a “full of life” lady who was always interested in the arts as well as sports, history and nearly all facets of knowledge. She had a tireless energy—becoming a trader on the American Stock Exchange—few women were in that endeavor in the 60's and early 70's. She was also a Real Estate Broker and was President of her own real estate company. Those who knew Jeanette, loved her dearly. She will be deeply missed, especially by her loving husband, Jerry of Monroe; her son, Jason and her grandchildren: Jesse, Lily and James; and her daughter-in-law, Vanessa, all of Sandy, UT. We all love you profoundly, darling. She is also survived by a son, George Burke, JR. of Los Angeles, CA. and a sister, Mary Mihld of Redlands, CA. At her request, her remains have been cremated and memorial services will be held at a later date under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 855 East 4800 South, Suite 100, Salt Lake City, UT 84107 Phone 801.265.1944
