Jerry A. Watts

April 12, 1935 — April 10, 2011

Richfield, Utah - Jerry Arch Watts passed away peacefully at his home, with his loving wife by his side, on April 10, 2011, after a long battle with cancer. He was born April 12, 1935 in Axtell, Utah, a son of Edwin and Thelma Wheeler Watts. He married Barbara Howard June 2, 1954 in Fredonia, Arizona. They were later divorced. He married Dawn Faust, May 1, 1981 in Elko, Nevada. Jerry worked at Gunnison Sugar Inc. and Kennecott Copper before starting his career with Richfield City in 1958. He retired as Public Works Director in 1995. Jerry was a member of various organizations including Sevier County Search and Rescue, Southern Utah OHV Club and the Utah Old Time Fiddlers. Jerry found great enjoyment spending time in his shop “puttering”, but his greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Dune buggying, snowmobling, ATVing, hunting, fishing, camping, boating and driving his Model A., were all things that made him smile. He especially loved spending time with his family at the Fishlake Cabin. Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Dawn; his children: Jean Egan, Karen and Kim Busk, Bob and Jolene Watts, Chris and Judy Watts, all of Richfield; Peggy and Mitch Unger of Spring Creek, Nevada; Jenni and Cortney Hunt of Sigurd; Lori and David Peterson of Annabella; 20 grandchildren 23 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Louise Moyeda of Sandy; parents-in-law: Robert and Faith Faust of Weatherly, PA; and a brother-in-law: Robert W. Faust of Puyallup, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jack Watts; sister and brother-in-law: Betty and Keith Hill; brother-in-law: Raul Moyeda; son-in-law: Bobby Egan; grandson, Rick Washburn and a great-grandson, Elye Duncan. His children would like to thank Mom for the countless hours she has spent caring for our Dad. We love you so much! Dawn and family would also like to thank the doctors and nurses from the Central Utah Clinic, the Gunnison Valley Hospice Team, and Dr. Crimin for their compassionate care. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 15, 2011 at 12:00 Noon in the Richfield 4th, 7th and 9th LDS Ward Chapel, 159 North 400 West in Richfield. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the ward chapel Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
