Jerry F Christensen

Hurricane, UT – Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, Jerry F Christensen, age 83, passed away at his home in Hurricane on December 7, 2021. He was the fourth of five children born to Lola Blanche and Clement Ferdinand Christensen on January 8, 1938 in Centerfield, Utah in a one room house. He graduated from Gunnison Valley High School where he met and married his sweetheart, Ellen Loura Crane May 24, 1958 in Salina, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple September 15, 1975. He served in the Utah National Guard for 6 years. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and valued his testimony of Jesus Christ. Jerry was a hard worker and had many jobs such as ranching, working for the railroad, sugar beets, setting guardrails, and hanging sheetrock. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours working on the family farm, golfing with grandsons, riding 4wheelers and side-by-sides, fishing, hunting, and riding his horse, Shorty. Jerry and Ellen spent many of their summers in the mountains where they rode their 4wheelers/side-by-sides with family and friends. He enjoyed every minute spent with his family. Jerry is survived by his wife, Ellen, of Hurricane; children: Jerrie Lin (Michael) Hansen of Ogden, Tammy (Paul) Evans of LaBarge, Wyoming, Terri (James) Wiley of South Jordan, Moky (Julie) Christensen, Holly (Steven) Kunzler, all of Richfield; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; brother, Franklin and Sharon Christensen. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 siblings: Virginia Kagie, Darline Christensen and Robert Christensen; and a granddaughter: Kimberly Evans. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 13, 2021 at 12:00 Noon in the Salina LDS Stake Center, 98 West 400 North, where friends may call for viewing Monday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
