Jessa Lee Root

Richfield, Utah - Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Jessa Lee Graham Root, age 83, of Richfield, passed away October 4, 2019 in Richfield. She was born August 21, 1936 in Orfina, Idaho, a daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Pearl Zina Levander Graham. She married Flann Owen Root November 10, 1954 in Asotin, Washington. He died August 14, 2008. Flann worked as a mine mechanic in the mining and logging industry. Jessa and Flann lived in Jeffery City, Wyoming in the late 1970's while he worked in the Uranium Mines. They moved to Kanab, Utah and he worked on the Arizona Strip, retiring in 1988. They then moved to Salt Lake City until 1995 when they moved to Orderville and then to Richfield in 2001, where they have since resided. Jessa loved going fishing and trolling for fish with Flann. She also enjoyed painting. She is survived by her children: Mary Ann Clark of Salt Lake City; Leisa L. and David Beat of Nebraska; Starla R. and Lorentino Roque of Texas; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a brother Albert Graham of Salt Lake City. She is preceded in death by her parents; and a son Frank Owen Root. Private family services were held at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield. At her request, her remains have been cremated and burial will take place at a later date.
