Joan Christiansen

Elsinore, Utah – Our kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Joan Beth Anderston Christiansen, age 71, passed away at her home in Elsinore on November 18, 2024. 

Joan was born March 1, 1953, in Salt Lake City, a daughter of Bud James and Mary Walker Anderton. She grew up in Tooele, where she enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing trips. She attended schools in Tooele. 

She married Kenneth DeMont Christiansen Jr. August 31, 1984, in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

She had lived in Garden Grove, California, in Nevada and Hawaii. In 2014, Joan and Ken moved to Elsinore, where they have lived ever since. 

Joan enjoyed camping, fishing, baking, and spending time with her family. She loved country music and dancing. She also loved her pets, Pookie, Shelby and Daisy. 

She is survived by husband, Ken Christiansen of Elsinore; her children: Cary and Debbie Harmon of Cedartown, Georgia; Kendra and Bobby Morgan of Ore City, Texas; Chad and Fran Harmon of Clovis, New Mexico; step-children: Brian and Hope Christiansen of Sandy; Kevin Christiansen of West Valley City; Jason and Stefanie Christiansen of Bountiful; Robin and Donovan Pomikala of Tooele; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings: Margaret and John Caldwell of Evanston, Wyoming; Buddy Anderton of Marysvale. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Mary Anderton; siblings: Patty Sorenson and George Anderton. 

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 22, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services.
