Joe H. Westbrook

Joe H. Westbrook “Granpa Joe” Bountiful, Utah/Salina, Utah - Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Joseph Huff Westbrook, age 85, of Bountiful, peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of October 10, 2003 in Bountiful, Utah. He was born July 30, 1918 in Thistle, Utah, a son of Joseph Blaine and Sarah Christanca Huff Westbrook. He married Christina Marie Giles, March 28, 1940 in Farmington, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, February 26, 1970. Marie died March 26, 1970. He married June Mann Moss, August 5, 1971 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Joe worked for the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad out of Salina and Thistle, Utah. After his retirement, he move to the Wasatch Front. He was an active member of the LDS Church. Joe is survived by his wife, June, of Bountiful; a son, Joseph Giles and Carol Westbrook, Whitney, Texas; step-children: Sharon and Joe Springer, Salina; Dexter and Sharon Moss, Magna; Juliene and Dennis Scott, Fruitheights; Malia and John Lewis, Pennsylvania; 6 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 27 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Blaine Westbrook, January 8, 1970 and a grandson, Steven Gary Westbrook, October 31, 2001. Joe was also preceded in death by six siblings: Martha W. Shepherd; Jen “Jeannie” Violate W. Spencer; Warren B. Westbrook; James “Jim” Westbrook; Edna Westbrook and Emma Adel Westbrook. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. in the Heber City Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main Street in Bountiful, Tuesday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Heber City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
