Joeann Heath

Redmond, Utah - Joe Ann Heath, 81, Redmond, UT died surrounded by her family on the morning of November 22, 2017 at Centerfield, UT after a long struggle with lung cancer. Joe Ann was born on Friday, February 28, 1936 at 10:51 am in Salina, UT to Blain and Ruby (Meier) Poulson. She married Charles Gail Heath on October 30, 1954 in Salt Lake City, UT and lived a colorful Navy life in Japan, Alaska and California till moving back home to Utah in 1971. Their marriage was solemnized in the St. George LDS March 9, 1996. Gail passed away November 24, 2010. Joe Ann graduated from North Sevier High School, then attended Stevens Henager College in Salt Lake City. Many years later she graduated from Snow College with Honors. She was active in the community and served in many church callings over the years and together with Gail, they served an LDS mission at Cove Fort, UT. She co-authored two Redmond Memories books, volunteered as a campground host at Fish Lake and at the Family History Center in Richfield helping others with their genealogy for many years. Sewing quilts, making “Minky” comforters for every member of her family and playing card games were her passions. Joe Ann is survived by her brother: Gerry Poulson (Beth); sister: Sharon Peterson (Garret); sons: Randell (Tina), Russell (Mavis) and CG (Brenna); 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren (including Charli Rae who she held the day before she passed); and her loving dog, Spunky. Joe Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Joe and her loving husband Gail. The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Mission at Community Living Rehabilitation and Assisted Living Center in Centerfield, Utah for the wonderful care that Joe Ann received there during the year she spent with them. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 12 Noon in the Redmond 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, 310 West 100 North in Redmond, where friends may call for viewing Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Redmond City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina.
