Joelane Chidester

Redmond, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother and sister, JoeLane Mary Peterson Lewis Nelson Chidester, age 83, died June 23, 2009 in Gunnison, Utah. She was born March 4, 1926 in Redmond, Utah, a daughter of Adley Everett and Fawn Floren Jorgensen Peterson. She attended school at North Sevier High. She married Clarence Lewis, July 22, 1944 in Richfield, Utah. He died July 4, 1973. She married Fred Nelson November 2, 1974 in Redmond, Utah. He died June 12, 1986. She married Orland Ray Chidester January 7, 1992 in Manti, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple June 28, 1995. He died October 30, 2004. Mom loved to fish and camp with Orland. She enjoyed going to Mesquite and playing cards with her friends. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in different callings. She enjoyed going to the activities and playing bingo at the care center in Centerfield. JoeLane is survived by her children: Neil and Evette Lewis of West Valley City; Marie and Wayne Hawkins of Redmond; Jean and Teryle Nielsen of Mayfield; Elaine and Ron Buchner of Reno, Nevada; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; step-children: Doris Beck of Centerfield; Donna Osborne of Panguitch; Jackie Black and Craig Chidester, both of Salina; Wendy Christensen of Ephraim; brothers and sister: Doyle Peterson of Lehi; Nelden and Della Rae Peterson of Sandy; Leon Peterson of Yuma, AZ; Sharleen and Ray Heard of St. George. She was preceded in death by her parents; her three husbands; a daughter, Marleen Thompson; and a sister, Donette Banks. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 12 Noon in the Redmond 1st LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Redmond Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
