John E. Jorgensen

Aurora, Utah - John E. Jorgensen, age 65, of Aurora, died October 23, 2005 in Richfield, Utah. He was born August 24, 1940 in Salina, Utah, a son of John G. and Vonda Joy Nelson Jorgensen. He graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1958. He married Chariton Street, January 1, 1960 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She died May 6, 2000. He married Katherine Jardine Summerall, January 5, 2001 in Richfield, Utah. John was a Sevier County Deputy Sheriff, where he served as Director of the Sevier County Drug and Alcohol Program. He held many service positions in the Alcoholics Anonymous Program. He was very involved in 4-H and FFA. John loved fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, farming and helping others. He is survived by his wife, Kathy, of Aurora; three daughters: Toni Jorgensen of Richfield; Jacki and Clay Hunter of Sigurd; Paige and Adam Johnson of Richfield; step-children: Julia Lynn and Rodney Pettit of Aurora; David and Samantha Brown of Loa; Jeffery and Susan Gibson of Springtown, Texas; foster-daughter, Lori Powell of Idaho; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Sharleen and Jay Willden of Salina. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Chari; and a sister Gayla Jorgensen. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 28, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. in the Richfield 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, located at 801 North 500 East in Richfield. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. and at the 2nd Ward Building, Friday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
