John H. Daugherty

July 19, 1943 — March 5, 2019

Circleville, Utah - Our kind and beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, John Henry Daugherty, age 75, passed away March 5, 2019 at the home of his daughter in Joseph, Utah. He was born July 19, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah a son of Robert Henry and Elsie Amelia Thorpe Daugherty. He graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City, Class of 1961. He married Vida LaRee Austin November 1, 1963 in Salt Lake City. John attended the University of Nevada where he received his Fire Certification and Machinist Certificates. He served as Fire Chief for the Circleville Fire Department and was also a volunteer for the Piute Search and Rescue. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved to fish, but most of all, he enjoyed working on old cars and trucks. John is survived by his loving wife, LaRee of Circleville; his six children: Jay Darton Daugherty of Price; Shawny Daugherty and Jeff Brooks of Joseph; Kaylene and George Scherer of Star Ranch, Wyoming; Jerry and Shelly Daugherty of Taylorsville; Mindy Daughter and Justen Hendrickson of Sandy; Johnathan and Jennifer Daugherty of Cedar City; 24 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren with 3 on the way; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother and sister: Bob Daugherty of west Valley City and Dixie McNalley of Price. He is preceded in death by his parents; step-mom, Berte Daugherty; sisters and brother: Nancy Heaps, Darlene Daugherty, Danny Daugherty and a great-grandson, Bridger Penman. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 12 Noon in the Circleville 1st LDS Ward Chapel, 195 West 200 South in Circleville, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Kingston Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
