Elsinore, Utah – Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, John James Hughes, age 63, passed away October 23, 2020 at his home in Elsinore. He was born October 13, 1957 in Los Angeles, California, a son of John Anthony Hughes Jr. and Betty Jane Baird Hughes. He graduated from South Sevier High School, Class of 1975 and then attended a building trade school where he got his contractor’s license. After school, he joined the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He married Kelly Morgan, November 22, 1997 in Monroe, Utah. John was the manager at Luxury Homes in Richfield for the past 20 years, selling manufactured homes to people in the six county area. He also served on the Elsinore Town Planning and Zoning Board. John loved hunting, fishing and camping. He was Mr. fix-it. He could fix anything and everything that needed fixing. He enjoyed building things. He loved spending time with his wife and children, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandkids. He will be greatly missed. John is survived by his beloved wife, Kelly, of Elsinore; his children: John Morgan Hughes, Kelsey and Travis Winn, all of Elsinore; Kody Black of Los Angeles, California; Lauren and Brandon Gleave of Monroe; Dawn McRae Marsh and Dallas McRae, both of Monroe; 2 grandchildren, Leighton Gleave and Lincoln Gleave; sisters: Lora J. Hughes and Rich Miller of Montana; Ann Hughes Higley of Oklahoma; his mother-in-law: Gayle Morgan of Monroe. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Anthony Hughes Jr. and Betty Jane Baird Hughes; and his father-in-law: Rodney Morgan. Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 30, 2020 at 12:00 Noon in the Elsinore Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Sevier Valley American Legion Post #37 and the Utah Honor Guard will be in the Elsinore Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
