John Lester Hansen

Fremont, Utah - Our kind and beloved husband, father and grandfather, John Lester Hansen, Jr. age 72, of Fremont, died August 10, 2007, in Richfield, Utah. He was born December 6, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a son of John Lester Sr. and Ruth Bell Griffin Hansen. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the United States Army in Germany. He married Patty Maria Wiseman, December 2, 1967 in Las Vegas, Nevada. John was a life time member of the American Legion and served as Commander of the American Legion Post #132 in Salt Lake City and as District Commander. He worked as a Logistic Engineer for and retired from Unisys in Salt Lake City. After his retirement, he and Patty moved to Fremont where they have lived the past 18 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. John is survived by his wife of Fremont; children: Bruce and Linda Hansen of Kaysville; Nannette and Rick Peterson of Elko, NV; Kim and Kelly Vail of Magna; Mike Conboy of Vernal; John D. and Patty Hansen of North Carolina; Kevin Hansen of Salt Lake City; Paul and Josie Hansen of Las Vegas, NV; Justin and Melissa Hansen of Magna; 27 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Hardesty. Grave side service will be held Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. in the Fremont Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92 and under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
