John R, Richhart

Koosharem, Utah - John Richard Richhart, age 41, died April 24, 2006 at his home in Koosharem. He was born January 9, 1965 in Torrance, California, a son of Richard LeRoy and Myrna June Shurley Richhart. They moved to Mt. Pleasant, Utah, where John was raised and attended school. John married Shelly Sorenson on May 12, 1990. Bishop Jack Burr performed the ceremony at Sorenson’s Ranch School in Koosharem. John had a very kind heart hidden by a rather rough exterior. He never judged others and never once passed a stranded stranger without lending a hand. He was employed in many different occupations including roofing and construction. He loved working with youth as a camp counselor in the family business. John was an avid fisherman and enjoyed many fishing trips with his son. They also enjoyed Boy Scout trips together. He belonged to the LDS Church and his three favorite things were family, friend and fish’n. He is survived by his wife, Shelly Sorenson Richhart, his son, John Rhett Richhart and his daughter, Sarah Rose Richhart, all of Koosharem; parents: Richard and June Richhart of Mt. Pleasant; brothers and sisters: Diana and Darryl Hainsworth of Mesa, AZ; James R. and Wendi Richhart of Taylorsville; Kathleen and Chris Davis of Anchorage, Alaska; Laurel and Steve Webber of Bellingham, Washingon; Jacob and Lindsay Richhart of Sandy; mother-in-law: Carrol Sorenson of Koosharem. John was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Stephen; his father-in-law: Burnell D. Sorenson. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 28, 2006 at 12 Noon in the Koosharem LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Koosharem Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
