John T. Crane

Salina, Utah - John Thomas Crane, Jr, age 88, of Salina, died January 31, 2008 in Richfield, Utah of pneumonia and complications from cancer. He was born July 27, 1919 in Salina, a son of John Thomas Sr. and Percinda Jensen Crane. He graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1937. He joined the US Army and served as a Communications Specialist from 1942 to 1946. He married Martha Przestwor May 23, 1951 in Salina, Utah. She died December 31, 2000. John T. was a stockholder and active participant in the Salina Land and Grazing Company for almost 60 years. He served as Secretary/Treasurer for most of those years. He was a member of the LDS Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and outdoor activities. He was an avid collector, historian and story teller. John T. is survived by his son, Michael J. and Mary Crane of Arco, Idaho; granddaughter: Erin Crane of Portland, Oregon. Grave side services will be held Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. in the Salina Eastside Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Salina American Legion Post #36 and under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
