Johnny A. Goble

October 8, 1959 — August 30, 2017

Gunnison, Utah - Our Super hero, Johnny Alan Goble returned home on August 30, 2017 in Murray Utah after a hard fought battle with cancer, surrounded by those who loved and cherished Him. Johnny was born on October 8, 1959 in Mount Pleasant Utah, a son of Boyd Earl and Margaret Marie Johnson Goble. He grew up and attended schools in the Gunnison Valley. He graduated from Gunnison Valley High School in 1977 where he was active in FFA, the music and drama programs, wrestling and baseball. Johnny was active in the LDS church and served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the California, Ventura Mission. After his mission he attended Snow College where he met the love of his life Jodi Rae Ellett. After only 11 days of dating he knew she was the one and asked her to marry him. They were sealed for time and all eternity on July 18, 1981 in the Manti LDS temple. John and Jodi are the proud parents of four children. Johnny was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to spend his time out hunting with his boys, fishing with his kids and grandkids and riding his horses. His greatest joy in life was his 7 grandchildren. Johnny was a happy, go-lucky, fun loving guy. He was a jokester and always made sure everyone was laughing. Johnny is survived by his eternal sweetheart Jodi, Gunnison, his children: Jessica (Craig) Boren of Payson UT; Jordan (Kami) Goble of Gunnison; Justin (Rebecca) Goble of Eagle Mountain UT; Janessa (Shyanne) Goble of Orem UT; his grandchildren, Brady, Mckenzie, Zackery, Eli and Mckell Boren and Hunter and Skyler Goble; his Mother, Margaret Goble of Gunnison UT; Siblings: Jeffery (ShyAnn) Goble of Gunnison; Laurie (Jeff) Morrison of Payson UT; mother-in-law: Karen Rae Giles Ellett of Bicknell. He is preceded in death by his father, Boyd Goble, brother Jimmy Goble and Father-in-law R. Sheldon Ellett. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the Gunnison LDS Stake Center, 80 West Center in Gunnison where friends may call for viewing on Monday evening, September 4, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. or Tuesday Morning from 9:00 to 10:30 A.M. prior to the services. Interment will take place in the Gunnison City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
