Josephine Williams

Salina, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Josephine Ann Chidester Williams, age 89, passed away February 22, 2015 in Richfield, Utah. She was born June 3, 1925 in Redmond, Utah, a daughter of Lorus Pratt and Kjersten "Kate" Marie Sorensen Chidester. She married Walter A. Williams, April 13, 1946 in Richfield, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He died July 9, 1996. Jo was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as a Primary Teacher and Relief Society Teacher. She served as President of the Salina Senior Citizens for four years. Jo enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, sewing, canning, making blankets, making candy and decorating cakes. She was the owner of a ceramic shop in Salina for several years. She is survived by her children: JoAnn and Ron Greene of Ephraim; Ray and Linda Chidester of Scipio; Keith LeFevre of Draper; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters: Kathy LeFevre and Betty Lou Allen; five sisters and two brothers: Mable DeSpain; Grace Martin; Mary Formo; Clifford Chidester, Orland Chidester; Syble Christensen and Gloria Keele. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 12 Noon in the Salina LDS Stake Center, 95 West 400 North in Salina, where friends may call for viewing Wednesday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
