Salina, Utah - Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, neighbor, and friend Joy Ilene Marx Heath, age 83, returned home to her Heavenly Father, on February 23, 2014. Joy was born on June 16, 1930, to Jacob Clyde and Leah Schlapher Marx in Sterling, Utah. After graduating from Sterling Public School, Joy married her sweetheart Valdo D. Heath at the family farm in Sterling on July 16, 1947. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Joy participated in Relief Society, often visiting teaching, quilting, and offering compassionate service to others for many years. Joy's compassionate nature blessed the lives of many in her ward. Joy participated in many activities within her community. She served the community as a member of the Lion's Club. She was also a member of the Jaycetts, and the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She assisted with poppy sales with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was active within her local Senior Citizens group. Joy filled her life with service to others, but also enjoyed quilting, crafting, gardening, cooking, and yard work. Joy is survived by her children: Karrie Bain and Jeff and Deonna Heath, all of Richfield; 5 granchildren; 9 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Valdo Heath; her son Jackie Heath; her parents Jacob Clyde and Leah Marx; 5 brothers, and 5 sisters. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 Noon, on Saturday, March 1, 2014, in the Redmond Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 150 East Main, Salina, from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to services. Burial will be in the Redmond Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
