Richfield, Utah - Joyce Albrecht, our mother, grandmother, sister, and friend quietly slipped away from this life on October 18, 2017, surrounded by her family at Diamond Janes Assisted Living in Grantsville, Utah. She was born November 7, 1929, in Richfield, Utah, to Joseph Lyman and Violet Fern Wilkinson Anderson, the second child of six, and the only daughter. She was loved and teased by her 5 brothers. Joyce married Owen Kenn Christiansen on April 1, 1950, and later divorced. They had three not so bad sons. Joyce then married Bud Sherman Albrecht on May 22, 1987, and later they were sealed to each other in the Manti LDS Temple on August 27, 2005. Joyce was a member of the Jaycee-ettes and enjoyed working with the Miss Richfield pageant. She loved sour green apples off the tree, fresh peas and tomatoes from the garden and most of all, vanilla ice cream. Joyce was employed as a nurse at the Richfield Clinic for twenty-three years. She was a passionate nurse and treated every patient with special love and care. She was a wonderful loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Joyce was known for her big red hair. She loved traveling and playing bridge. Joyce was a member of the LDS church serving in various callings. The final six years of her life Joyce lived at Diamond Janes Assisted Living in Grantsville, Utah. While there she loved and was loved by the residents and staff. She enjoyed reading the scriptures to the study group and learning more about the gospel. Joyce is survived by her children Stephen and Linda Christiansen of Grantsville; Miles and Rajanee Christiansen of West Jordan; Kelly and Janet Christiansen of West Valley City; Robert Albrecht of Salt Lake City; Kalene Chavis of Teasdale and Sherman Albrecht of St. George along with 20 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one on the way. Joyce is also survived by her brothers Max and Nancy Anderson of Salt Lake City; Garn and Angie Anderson of Tucson AZ; Craig and Karen Anderson of Richfield; and her sister-in-law Denise Anderson of Salt Lake City. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband’s Kenn Christiansen and Bud Albrecht; her brothers: Byron Verde Anderson and John McKay Anderson. Funeral services will be on Monday October 23, 2017 at 12:00 Noon in the Richfield 9th LDS Ward Chapel, 159 North 400 West, where friends may call for viewing from 9:30 to 11:30 AM prior to the services. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah. The family wishes to express its deepest love and gratitude to the staff at Diamond Janes Assisted Living and to Canyon Hospice for their love and care of our mother.
