Joyce Holt

Helen Joyce Sandberg Holt, 89, passed away in the peaceful morning hours of Tuesday, September 26, 2023 in Cedar City, Utah.


Joyce was born August 26,1934 to J. D. and Stella Sandberg. Joyce grew up in Richfield and had many fond childhood memories. As a girl Joyce lived at the Beehive House and made many lifelong friends. She ran track and field in high school and graduated from Richfield High School with the class of 1952.


Joyce married Richard McAllister February 21, 1958. They were later divorced. Joyce married Keith Holt May 3, 1972. They were later divorced. She had six children who she loved dearly.


Joyce lived in several different areas of the state throughout her life, including Salt Lake, Mayfield, and Sevier county before settling in Cedar City for the remaining years of her life. Joyce was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was an enthusiastic fan of the Utah Jazz, especially Karl Malone. She was an avid cross-stitcher and was known for many beautiful pieces of art. She loved the outdoors and spent time on Boulder Mountain bow hunting and camping. She loved to go for Jeep rides, especially during fall, to see the changing leaves. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of getting to know her.


Joyce is survived by her children: Shelly McAllister and Ellen Moore of Pennsylvania, Terri Parker of Washington, Pam and David Busk of Cedar City, Nancy and John Gasper of Washington, and Doug Holt of California.


She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings; daughter: Kema Holt; son-in-law: Robert Parker; daughter-in-law: Cassandra Holt; first husband: Richard McAllister and second husband: Keith Holt.


Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 3:30 P.M. in the Richfield City Cemetery with a private family viewing prior. Services are under the care of Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
