Junior Schaerrer Dixon

Junior S. Dixon Richfield/Ephraim, UT. - Junior Schaerrer Dixon, age 91, died Monday, March 17, 2003 at the home of his daughter in Ephraim. He was born June 17, 1911 in Payson, Utah, one of 13 children born to Charles Christopher Flintoff and Adelia Ann Schaerrer Dixon. He married Virginia Street, June 8, 1934 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died April 11, 1981. He married Letha Walker, November 27, 1985 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Junior graduated from Payson High School, Class of 1928 and attended BYU. He served a mission for the LDS Church to the Northwestern States. Junior and his first wife, Virginia, also served a mission to Washington DC. Junior was active all of his life in the LDS Church, in various organizations. He served as a Temple Worker in the Manti Temple. Junior owned and operated Dixon Pack in Richfield for many years. After the death of his first wife, he sold fruit from his fruit stand on 4th West in Richfield and hauled coal for many people in the area. He is survived by his wife, currently residing in Idaho Falls, Idaho, with her children; his daughter, Virginia and her husband, LeMar Hanson of Ephraim; his son, David Junior Dixon of Taylorsville; 9 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Edward Street Dixon. Junior was the last of 13 children. He was preceded in death by eight brothers and four sisters: Charles Dixon, Douglas Dixon, Quayle Dixon, Blanchard Dixon, Sheldon Dixon, Paul Dixon, George Dixon, Bryon Dixon, Deone D. Cloward, Bernice D. Fraughton, Louise D. Hansen and Jean D. Westring. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 22, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. in the Richfield 4th, 7th and 9th LDS Ward Chapel, located at 159 North 400 West in Richfield. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 260 North 400 West, in Richfield, Friday evening from 7 to 8 P.M. and at the ward chapel Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Graveside services and burial will be Saturday afternoon at 4:00 P.M. in the Payson City Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
