Junior Torgersen

Richfield, Utah - Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Woodruff Junior Torgersen, age 84, of Richfield, passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, December 6, 2014 in Richfield. He was born December 31, 1929 in Monroe, Utah, a son of William Leonard and Audrey Ann Hicks Torgersen. He married Shonna Rae Pierce, February 13, 1959 in Loa, Utah. She died October 6, 1999. Junior was a member of the LDS Church. He worked for many years at the Gypsum Plant in Sigurd. He loved growing his vegetable garden every year and looked forward to what he could harvest. He liked going hunting with his brothers, sisters and parents when they were able. He loved spending time with his daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. Junior is survived by his two daughters: Ranae and Jeff Korp of Dayton, Wyoming; Naomi and Allen Ashurst of Richfield; grandchildren: Charles and Haley Hooper of Richfield; Jamie Marston of Sigurd; Emily and Josh Jeffs of Manti; April Korp, Michael Korp and Becky Korp, all of Dayton, Wyoming; 7 great-grandchildren; sister and brother Mavis and Glenn Wade of Magna; Jay G. and Dianna Torgerson of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shonna; three sisters and two brothers: Georgia Jolley, Varda Nelson, Bud Torgersen; Vespa Hatch and R. G. Torgerson. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 12:00 Noon in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Thursday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
