Karnell K. Durfey

Emery, Utah - Karnell King Durfey, age 83, died December 31, 2014 at the home of his daughter in Taylorsville, Utah. He was born May 1, 1931 in Bicknell, Utah, a son of George Lawrence and Clea King Durfey. Karnell grew up in Wayne County and attended the local schools there. He served his country in the United States Army from 1948 to 1952. He worked as an iron worker in construction and helped in building the power plant in Emery County. He is survived by his children: Robert K. and Darla Durfey of Yucca City, California; David H. and Mindy Durfey of San Diego, California; Joyce Freeman of Taylorsville; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Russell and Beth Durfey of Manti; Larry and Linda Durfey of West Jordan; LaWana and Allen Jones of Teasdale; Lois and Doug Baker of Murray. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joan; a daughter, Debra Lee Durfey; a sister and two brothers: Edra Durfey; Clem Durfey and Scott L. Durfey. Grave side services will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. in the Teasdale Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92 and the Utah Honor Guard will be in the Teasdale Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
