Karol Gene Clements

Salina, Utah - Our kind and caring wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Karol Gene Lewis Clements, age 75, died Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012 at her home in Salina, of lung cancer, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 21, 1936 in Salina, a daughter of Lowell Lawry and Una Gay Crane Lewis. She attended schools in Salina. Karol married John James Clements May 15, 1954 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was a member of the LDS Church and a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She enjoyed doing crafts, oil painting, needle work and gardening. Karol is survived by her husband, John, of Salina; children: John Mark Clements and Cheryl Hatten, both of Salina; Pete E. and Deborah Clements of Tucson, Arizona; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Arlene Olson and Shirlee Syphus, both of Las Vegas, Nevada; and Betty Pearce of Sacramento, California. She was preceded in death by her father, Lowell Lawry Lewis; her mother, Una Gay Diamond; her beloved son, Robert Clements and an aunt, Marion Crane Humphrey. Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Thursday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
