Kay Ezell

Venice, Utah - Our kind and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Catherine May Coughlin Ezell, age 89, of Venice, passed peacefully away on Sunday, September 11, 2016 in Richfield, Utah. She was born May 17, 1927 in Los Angeles, California, a daughter of Thomas Maurice and Marie Clementia Determan Coughlin. She graduated from Bishop Conaty, also known as Catholic Girls High School, Class of 1945. Kay married Leroy Eugene Smith, June 9, 1946 in Los Angeles, California. They were later divorced. She married Frank Coleman Ezell, December 31, 1964 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kay and Frank moved to Venice in 1988. She enjoyed riding horses and working with her hunting dogs. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Richfield. Kay loved it when the family would come either to Norco or Venice to ride the horses and enjoy the dogs. Her family was everything to her. Kay is survived by her beloved husband, Frank, of Venice; her children: Linda and Stu White of Veneta, Oregon; Steve and Kristine Smith of Grand Terrace, California; Greg and Helen Smith of Buena Park, California; son-in-law: Bubba Atkeisson of Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandchildren: Matt and Angela White; Carissa and Andy Rinner; Shaye Smith, Carly Smith, Clinton and Christina Smith, Ashley Smith, Tara and Chad Sloan, and Adam Atkeisson; great-grandchildren: Tony White, Elsie Rinner, Ethan Rinner, Emma Howard, Isaiah Sloan, Micah Sloan and Ace Atkeisson; a sister, Patricia Petersam of Northridge, California. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Atkeisson. Funeral mass will be held Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 815 North Highway 118 in Richfield. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, Wednesday evening, September 28, 2016 from 6 to 8 P.M. Burial will be in the Venice Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
