Keith L. Sorensen

June 4, 1916 — January 8, 2006

Aurora, Utah - Our kind and beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Keith L. Sorensen, age 89, died January 8, 2006 at his home in Aurora. Keith was born on June 4, 1916 (on a cold, windy summer afternoon when his mother was away from home), in Salina, Utah, a son of Levi and Ethyl Elnora Nielsen Sorensen. He married Phyllis Jensen, December 16, 1936 in the Manti LDS Temple. They are the proud parents of 5 daughters and 1 son. Keith spent his entire life in Aurora, where he was a successful and well respected farmer. Dad had a high work ethic and was considered by all, as an honest man. In their younger years, Keith and Phyllis opened a cafe in Aurora, where the food and service soon gave them a reputation and was supported by most of the truckers traveling highway 89. He also opened Sorensen Country Store in Aurora with his son, Kevin. Later he owned and operated Sorensen Burial Vault Company with Kevin, until recent health problems prevented him from working. Keith is survived by his wife of 69 years, Phyllis J. Sorensen of Aurora; his 5 daughters and 1 son: Gaylia and Terral Huntsman, Suzette and Robert Maxwell, all of Sandy; Leanna and Gail Madsen, Sheila Sorensen, all of Salina; Iris (Gerald, deceased) Bradshaw of Arvada, Colorado; Kevin and Becky Sorensen of Aurora; 29 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Wayland V. Sorensen of Las Vegas, Nevada. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 12, 2006 at 12 Noon in the Aurora 1st LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. and again Thursday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Aurora City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
