Keith N. Sorensen Sr.

Salina, Utah - Keith Neil Sorensen Sr., 83, of Salina, passed away January 31, 2021. He was born on August 19, 1937, to Howard Soren and Erna Minnie Sorensen in Ephraim Utah. He married Marina Ann Gardner on June 22, 1956, in Whitney Oxforshire England. They had five children Linda, Julie, Keith Jr., Jonathan, and Scott. Keith graduated from Manti High in 1955 and enlisted into the Air Force where he served during the Korean Conflict. He was stationed at Bryce Air Force base in England where he met the love of his life; Marina. After returning to the states with one small child they continued their family. Keith was a handy man at heart and took pride in his work, moving back to Salina in 1968 where he raised his family and then went back on the road working for Mortensen Construction for 18 years. During his employment Keith and Marina had the opportunity to travel all over the lower 48 states working major construction jobs from Florida to Washington. Even after living in an RV for most of the time on the road he still loved to spend time at Fish Lake on the boat or in the motor home. Keith was a member of the Salina American Legion Post 36 and enjoyed being involved with legion activities up until the point his health didn’t allow him. Keith is survived by his beloved wife, Marina, of Salina; his daughters, Linda (Scott) Jones, Nephi; Julie (Don) White Richfield; sons, Keith Jr (Kim), West Jordan; Jonathan (Jillyn), Salina; Scott (Melanie), Colorado Springs; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great- granddaughter; brother Reid Howard Sorensen; sister: Rose Marie Sorensen. Keith is preceded in death by his parents, Howard Soren and Erna Minnie Sorensen; Sisters Kathleen Sorensen and Alma Olsen; granddaughter, Janel White; grandson, Riley White. Graveside services with military honors accorded by the Salina American Legion Post #36 will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the Salina Eastside Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
