Keith Ormond Bicknell, Utah - Keith Ormond, age 61, of Bicknell, died August 25, 2004 at his residence in Bicknell after a long illness. He was born October 2, 1942 in Newport, Washington, a son of Carter Merrill and Katherine Letitia Reed Ormond. He was raised in Washington State and Utah. He graduated from Escalante High School, Class of 1961 and he joined the Army that same year. He served in Viet Nam, Europe and the United States. Keith married Gwendolyn Huggins in 1965 and they had two children, Nannette and Heather. They were later divorced. After twelve years of service, Keith left the Army to become a plumber. He worked in Texas for several years before returning to Utah to stay near his aging parents. Keith worked as a ranch hand in Utah for the rest of his career. He retired five years ago due to failing health. Keith enjoyed hunting and fishing. As a teenager he would ride his bicycle twenty miles round trip to the lake and home, just to spend time fishing. He rarely missed a hunting season once he was old enough to go. He also enjoyed fixing up old cars and was never quite happy unless he had one to work on. Keith is survived by his children: Nannette and Jeff Roach of Bayard, Nebraska; Heather Ormond of Gering, Nebraska; grandchildren: Roger Leon and Amber Roach and Edward Allen Ormond; his brother, Clyde and Kris Ormond of West Jordan and his sister, Linda and Kenneth Guymon of Fredonia, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 2, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. in the Escalante City Cemetery, with military honors accorded by the Escalante American Legion Post #114 and under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
