Ken Jones

April 4, 1936 — May 11, 2013

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Kenneth Alvin Jones, age 77, died May 11, 2013 in Richfield, with his devoted wife, Annabeth, at his side, after a 10 year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Ken was born April 4, 1936 in Pioche, Nevada, a son of Francis Ervin and Roka Barnum Jones. He graduated from Virgin Valley High School, Class of 1954. Ken married Annabeth Potter, June 20, 1959 in Mesquite, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple August 25, 1973. Ken worked for the City of North Las Vegas, Nevada as a Firefighter for 30 years and after he retired, he and Annabeth moved to Utah and settled in Aurora in 1986. Ken worked for the Salina Auction for three years and for 11 years at Jim Terry's Texaco Service Station in Richfield. In 2004, Ken and Annabeth moved to Richfield. Ken served in many callings in the LDS Church, including Ward and Stake Missions, Counselor in Bishoprics and serving at the Salina Family History Center. He enjoyed camping and fishing and being with his family. Ken is survived by his devoted and caring wife, Annabeth of Richfield; children: JoLynn and Scott Wade of Moapa, Nevada; Dana Kae and David Anderson of Richfield; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Francis Gordon and Sharon Jones of Elko, Nevada. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Melburn Dale Jones. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Kimberly Beck for all of the care and support she has given to Ken over the past 10 years, and to the staff at the Richfield Care Center, for their tender care of Ken the past 10 days. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 17, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing from 11:30 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
