Kenley Unsworth

October 28, 1955 — January 27, 2022

Bicknell, Utah - Kenley Dale Unsworth age 66, died peacefully with his beautiful wife Marilyn by his side on January 27, 2022 at the St. George Utah, Regional Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He returned to his loving Heavenly Father and was joyfully welcomed by his parents, and beautiful daughter Milissa. Kenley was born October 28, 1955, the youngest of six children, in Salt Lake City, Utah, born to Kenneth Leon and Grace Julander Unsworth. Kenley grew up in Taylorsville, Utah when you could still call it “country”. He grew up hunting, working on the farm, participating in sports, and enjoying various outdoor activities. Kenley married the love of his life, Marilyn Rushton on August 19, 1977. They raised four children: Kenneth, Milissa, Charlotte and Steven. On September 23, 1995, Kenley was sealed to his family for all time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. The two have enjoyed 44 wonderful years of marriage. Kenley enjoyed teaching his children firearm safety as he was an advocate and very passionate about guns. He taught them how to hunt, how to work hard, and how to be the best version of yourself. Kenley rarely missed an opportunity to support his children with their passions. He worked tirelessly so he could make their dreams come true. His children and grandchildren knew how much he loved them. He was very proud of every child and their own personal accomplishments in life. Kenley’s occupation for over 35 years was a Boilermaker in Local #182, and Local #4. He was passionate about his work. He was an admirable and supportive leader to those he supervised. As much as he enjoyed working, he looked forward to the day he could retire. He moved out to Bicknell to be in the country, where Kenley and Marilyn have enjoyed their last 10 years. Even after Kenley’s various hospitalizations and recent diagnosis of cancer, you could find him spending as much time as he could in the mountains. Where he enjoyed nature, reloading ammunition, hunting, trapping, and riding his side by side. When he was not spending time outside he could be found in his recliner by the fireplace, watching a show with his wife and fur-babies by his side. Kenley was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His greatest service was loving his fellow man. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his daughter, Charlotte; his two sons, Kenneth (Lisa), Steven (RyLee); and eight grandchildren, Skyler, Riley, Melody, Nila, Ella, Owen, Camden and Creighton; Sister, Wanona; Brothers, Leon (Wendy), Monty (Elizabeth), Larry (Karen), Ted (Gerri); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Grace McGraw, and Kenneth Leon Unsworth, and daughter Milissa Rose. Special thanks to all of the healthcare workers at St. George Regional Hospital for the outstanding love and care they showed Kenley during his final days. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 12 Noon in the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield Utah where friends may call for a viewing from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will take place the same day following the conclusion of the funeral service at the Bicknell Cemetery where he will be laid to rest under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
