Richfield, Utah – Our kind and caring brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Kenneth James Charles, age 51, of Richfield, passed away August 21, 2024, in St. George, Utah.
He was born October 29, 1972, in Richfield, a son of Cheryl Ann Charles. James grew up in Richfield and as a boy he enjoyed swimming in the canal and riding his bike. He was a traditional Native American dancer. He graduated from Richfield High School with the class of 1991.
While attending school James lived with the Puzey family and continued traditional dancing. He traveled with the Soreson’s to dance with them. He studied Commercial Arts at the Snow College Tech Center. He loved watching the Raiders play football and was a die-hard fan. He enjoyed playing video games and watching movies and NASCAR. He was a fan of ‘80’s Rock music.
James will be remembered for being dependable. He loved his nieces and nephews and would try to support them in any way he could. He had a big heart. He loved his friends and family and was always checking in on them. He will be missed by those who loved him.
James is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, January and Nathan Lee of Richfield, brothers; Russell Charles and Jeff Charles, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother; Cheryl Maes, grandparents; Kenneth and Vera Charles, uncle; Ardean Charles, cousins; Bryan Little, Marice Charles, Tyler Charles, Christopher Charles, Delila Charles, Alexey Charles and Damon Charles Sr.
A memorial service for James will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 3:00 P.M. in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, where friends may visit with the family one hour prior.
Services are under the care of Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
