Kenneth Newell Stanley

Sigurd, Utah - Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Kenneth Newell Stanley, age 70, was taken from us on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 in Provo, Utah, as a result of a four wheeler accident that he and his wife were involved in earlier in the day in Sevier County. Kenneth was born April 3, 1942 in Aurora, Utah, a son of Norman Eugene “Red” and Sabra Ruth Allred Stanley. He grew up in Aurora and attended North sevier High School, spending his teenage years on a farm. He married Carol Lee Shipp, September 5, 1961 in Aurora, Utah. They met and dated during high school, before Newell proposed to Carol at Maple Grove in the spring of 1961. Kenneth worked for and retired from IFA as a truck driver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family and riding his four wheeler. He was a member of the LDS Church. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Carol, of Sigurd; his six children: Kenneth Eugene and Virginia Stanley of Salina; Sharon and Robert Martinez of Richfield; Lloyd and Tina Stanley of Aurora; Shelly and Thomas Williams of Aurora; Mary and Dave Johnson of Richfield, Joyce and Rick Phelps of Salina; 28 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; brother and sisters: Willis LeRoy Stanley of Kemmerer, Wyoming; Rita Eunice and Don DeSpain of Axtell; Evelyn LeNore Hansen of Richfield. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Bill Williams; a brother, Lloyd Stanley; a sister-in-law, Rhonna Stanley and his parents, Red and Sabra Stanley. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. in the Sigurd LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Monday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the ward chapel in Sigurd, Tuesday from 11:30 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Sigurd Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
