Kenneth W. Buttrick

Richfield, Utah - Kenneth Walter Buttrick, "Red", age 85 of Richfield, died August 13, 2018 in Richfield. He was born August 28, 1932 in Rhodell, West Virginia, a son of Carl William and Florence Agnes Nelson Buttrick. He graduated from Logan High School in Logan, Ohio, Class of 1950. He served his country in the US Air Force. Ken married Mary Ann Draper September 4, 1960 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. She died November 27, 1991. He then married Maxine Claire Iversen Bretz, April 29, 1994 in Salina, Utah. She died July 8, 2009. Dad loved to work with wood. He made many lamps for his friends. He made dressers, bed head boards, benches, and much more for his family members. He loved going to Monroe to play pool with all of his friends at the Senior Center. He would arrive early to get the tables ready for all whom came, and he looked forward to doing it every single day. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Dad is survived by his children: Rick and Sandy Bretz, David Bretz, Donald and Jackie Bretz, Debbie and Charles Woodside, Anna and Kirk Hokanson, all of Salina; Diana Peterson of American Fork; 23 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister: Carl Buttrick of Creola, Ohio; Betty Meece of Jackson, Ohio and Mike Buttrick of Logan, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents; both of his wives; brothers and sister: Bernie Buttrick, Carol Buttrick and Ronald Buttrick. Memorial services will be held from 5:00 P.M. 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the Richfield Senior Center 890 N 300 West, Richfield, Utah. Services are under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
