Kenny Wells

March 13, 1961 — April 21, 2022

Hanksville, Utah - William Kenneth Wells, age 61, devoted husband to Rhonda Jo Wells, loving father to seven children, and grateful grandpa to twenty grandchildren, passed away April 21, 2022 at his home in Hanksville. Kenny’s life took him to many places. His first stop was Green River, Utah, where he was born on March 13, 1961, to William Lavar and Susan May Owen Wells. He attended Wayne High School, where a redhead caught his eye, he knew at the age of 15 that he wanted to marry Rhonda Jo Sellers, and that was exactly what he did. One of the happiest days in Kenny’s life was when he took his bride to the Manti Temple in 1987, and they started their journey of eternity together. Their union is one of unmatched teamwork, which was highlighted during their service mission working in the Addiction Recovery Program. They celebrated forty-one beautiful years of marriage together. Kenny had a very creative, visionary mind. It seemed like when it came to tackling projects, he was fearless! He didn’t worry about the mistakes that would be made, instead he pressed forward, knowing he could figure it out and learn many lessons for the next project. He loved exploring, learning, and doing. Family outings and togetherness were always priority number one. They were filled with laughter, good food, and life lessons. Many of his life lessons included him sharing his love of the Lord with his children, there was no doubt he had a testimony of his Savior. Kenny was a hard worker, to the max! He had a drive that never quit. His many jobs took him all over the country, so much so, that his seven children (excluding the twins) were all born in different places. Kenny had a devotion to service. It was a cornerstone of his character. Many of his beloved family outings were devoted to helping his community. He was a quiet helper, he preferred to work behind the scenes, but his efforts always had a huge impact. He is laughing and reconnecting with his father, William Lavar Wells. In addition to his father, his welcoming party included his son, Aaron Tyler Wells and his daughter-in-law, Camrie Madison Wells. If you knew Kenny, you also knew his kids: Tara (Justin) Deem, Ryan (Carrie) Wells, Tracy Wells, Eric (Kaylee) Wells, Adam Wells, and Jenny Wells. These were his favorite people to make memories with. We will do our darndest to honor his name, by striving to be fearless in doing the right thing. He is also survived by his mother, Susan Wells of Hanksville; and siblings: Sharon Jeanette Shafer (Gary) of Kirkland, Arizona; Brenda Dawn Maughan (Bret) of Beaverdam, Utah; Clinton Aurther (Amy) of Santaquin, Utah; Caleb Lavar (Stacey) of Williston, North Dakota; and Charity Susan Jackson (Jared) of Hanksville. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 29, 2022 at 12:00 P.M. in the Hanksville LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Hanksville Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah. There will be a celebration of life in true Kenny style at his airplane hanger in Hanksville at 6 P.M on Friday, April 29th. Donations can be made through venmo @Rhondawells
