Richfield, Utah - Kenyon D Ogden, 51, passed away December 5, 2011 at his home in Richfield, Utah due to a heart attack. He was born September 11, 1960, in Richfield, Utah a son of Dea Ward “DW” Ogden and Florence Ann Underwood Ogden. He grew up and attended school in Richfield. He graduated high school from Provo Canyon School in 1978. Kenyon married Naomi Jean Lind, September 18, 1981. Together they had two children, Jason D and Nicole. Kenyon and Naomi were later divorced after 23 years of marriage, but continued to have a unique relationship and remained great friends. They participated together with their children and grandchildren at every event possible. They still, and will always, have a special love for each other. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was extremely supportive of his families activity in the church. He was proud that his son served an LDS mission and that both of his children were married in the temple. Kenyon loved the mountains and specifically camping at the property he and his siblings own on Cove Mountain. He took up his trailer and ATVs as soon as the snow melted and returned every weekend possible before the season ended. He loved wildlife, particularly listening to elk bugling in the fall. He enjoyed four-wheeling, fishing and other outdoor adventures. Kenyon lived a life of service and was always trying to help. As the regional weatherization coordinator, his job was very important to him. He found joy in coordinating government funds to replace broken furnaces, water heaters, windows, etc., to weatherize the homes of those in need. He often spent time, and even sleepless nights, worrying about the people he couldn’t get to fast enough. As a result, he never took for granted his own warm home. Another treasured opportunity was helping the Navajo people on the reservation. He looked forward to the week long event every year. He had a great love for the Navajo people. His greatest love was his family. He often bragged to others about his children, grandchildren, and his siblings. He loved keeping up-to-date with their lives and accomplishments. He was most happy when he saw his granddaughters. Kenyon is survived by his children: Jason D (Melissa) Ogden of Provo, Utah and Nicole (John) Cannon of Washington, Utah; his three granddaughters: Madison Sara Cannon, Brinley Melissa Ogden, and Alliya Nicole Cannon; by his siblings: Marshall (Jolene) Ogden of Clayton, Idaho, Eleanor (Doug) Whisenant of Alpine, Utah, Corwin (Linda) Ogden of Richfield, Utah, Merrill (Diane) Ogden of Manti, Utah, and Judi Ogden of Orem, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Brent Ogden. The family would like to express their love and appreciation to all of Kenyon’s wonderful friends that took time to check on him regularly, and help care for him in his times of need. All that knew Kenyon will attest, he was an example of love and friendship that we will not forget. He was a friend to everyone and will always be remembered for his kind heart, gentle countenance, and warm smile.
